Optus iPhone Deals

iPhone 3GS Outright & UnlockedOptus has been the most popular iPhone supplier since they started stocking the iPhone 3G in 2008. We haven’t seen the supply statistics on the 3GS sales yet, but chances are Optus will once again have sold the most handsets. I am talking about handset provided on plans, because if you want to buy the iPhone outright, then the Apple store has the cheapest prices and is the most popular.

So let’s looks at the Optus iPhone Deals and see how good they are.

$19 iPhone Plans

Optus is unique in providing the iPhone on a $19 cap. It’s a great deal for very low mobile users. The $19 Cap doesn’t include a lot of calls or data, but if you don’t need it, then why go on a higher cap?

There are obviously handset repayments on the $19 plans, but that’s fair enough. The minimum cost over 24 months on a $19 Cap from Optus is one of the cheapest ways to get an iPhone 3GS or 3G model.

Optus is currently offering a $50 credit for new and recontracting customers who connect online for 24 months. See the Optus website for full details and conditions.

$49 iPhone Plans

The $49 Optus Cap plans have been hugely popular. You get a lot of included calls and text messages as well as a data allowance of 250MB. The handset repayments are very reasonable and it’s an all-round great deal to get an iPhone.

$59 iPhone Plans

If you want extra data – 750MB – and unlimited SMS, then the $59 Optus Cap gives you these advantages over the $49 Cap. The included calls allowance is otherwise the same at the $49 Cap. The handset repayments are also lower, including having to pay $0 upfront for the 8GB iPhone 3G.

Optus is currently offering a $100 credit for new and recontracting customers who connect online for 24 months. See the Optus website for full details and conditions.

$79 iPhone Plans

Like the $59 Optus Cap, the $79 Cap plan also includes unlimited SMS. The data allowance gets bumped up to 1GB on this plan and the included call allowance is significantly increased. The 16GB iPhone 3GS also comes with no handset repayments!

Optus Timeless iPhone Plans

Optus has three “Timeless” plans, at $99, $119 and $129 per month. There are no handset repayments for any iPhone on the $119 or $129 plans and also on the $99 plan when you take the $14.99 Mobile Internet Pack. So even the 32GB iPhone 3GS has no extra handset repayments!

There is a useful comparison table on the Optus website to compare the benefits and inclusions of each of the ‘Timeless’ plans. For example only the $129 Timeless plan includes unlimited free voicemail.
