The Vodafone iPhone deals offer a really good combination of included calls and sms, a low price for getting a handset and some great extra features (like free tethering). Vodafone is also well known for its good customer service – they are typically far easier to deal with than Telstra and Optus.
Vodafone iPhone – 16GB 3GS
The Vodafone iPhone deals start at the $59 Cap per month. The $59 plan comes with an additional $10 handset repayment each month on a 24 month plan. But if you have any common sense whatsoever, then you won’t join on that plan, but will get the $69 Cap, which has no ongoing handset repayments.
The $59 Cap (plus $10 handset payments) comes with $350 of included calls, sms etc and 500MB of data each month. For the same price, the $69 Cap comes with $400 of calls, sms etc and 1GB of data each month. It’s the same price, but you get more phone usage plus twice the data allowance. Yet I am sure someone somewhere has gone for the $59 Cap. Just don’t let it be you!
Vodafone also has the 16GB iPhone 3GS with no extra handset repayments on the $79, $99 and $114 Unlimited Cap plans. The more you spend each month, the more calls, sms and data allowance you get.

Vodafone iPhone – 32GB 3GS
The cheapest plan to get a 32GB iPhone 3GS with Vodafone is the $59 Cap. So despite it being a useless plan for getting the 16GB iPhone 3GS, it is a popular plan for getting the 32GB version. It comes with $350 of calls and sms and 500MB of data. The handset repayments are $15 per month, making it a minimum of $74 per month.
The $69 Cap also has handset repayments of $15 per month for the 32GB iPhone, making it a minimum of $84 per month.
The 32GB iPhone 3GS comes free on the $114 Unlimited Cap on a 24 month plan. It includes unlimited standard calls to landlines and mobiles and comes with 2GB of data allowance. It’s a great deal for the heavy mobile user.

Vodafone Prepaid iPhone
You can purchase the iPhone outright from Vodafone and it comes with some bonus prepaid credit. The 16GB 3Gs is $929 and the 32GB 3GS is $1,129. If you don’t mind having the phone locked to Vodafone and you want to get a Vodafone prepaid plan and credit with your purchase, then getting it from Vodafone will suit you fine.

If you would prefer your iPhone not be locked to a particular network and you don’t need a prepaid service from Vodafone, then it’s probably better to buy your iPhone outright from Apple directly.
